If you want to reduce unwanted hair on the face & body – this treatment is for you! Laser hair removal is the most effective and efficient method of permanent hair reduction.
Laser Hair Removal is a safe and effective alternative to shaving, waxing, plucking and electrolysis. Common areas treated include the face, underarms, bikini area, as well as legs and backs.
Since Kingston Laser & Cosmetic Clinic was Kingston’s first clinic to offer Laser Hair Removal treatments in 1998, you can feel confident in our safety, experience and great results. Our clinic has different state-of-the-art hair removal lasers to safely and effectively treat different skin types.
Benefits you will enjoy:
Laser hair removal literally targets the problem at the root. The laser beam targets the hair follicle and gently heats it therefore destroying its ability to regenerate. Because our lasers have specific wavelenghs, the laser energy is absorbed by the dark color of the hair follicle only and amazingly leaves the surrounding tissue unharmed. Each strand of hair cycles through “growth” and “dormant” phases; because during the “dormant” phase the follicle has no pigment, several treatments will be needed. At each session all strands of hair in the growth stage will be permanently treated.
Prior to your laser hair removal treatment the area to be treated will be shaved and covered with a cooling gel as applicable. For more sensitive patients, anesthetic creams can be applied prior to the treatment. Throughout the treatment, a specialized air cooler will cool the treatment site, diminishing discomfort. The laser hand-piece will be pressed against the skin and bursts of laser will zap the hair. Each burst will feel like the snapping of an elastic band on the skin. Immediately after the treatment the skin will look slightly irritated or swollen. This will recede within a few hours of the treatment. Treatments are quick and easy.
With over 22 years of experience with laser hair removal, our clinic has the most experience of anyone in the Kingston and surrounding areas.

Assessment of these spots prior to treatment is important in order to ensure they are not cancerous. Biopsies are frequently taken.
At Kingston Laser & Cosmetic Clinic, patients with severe, sun damaged skin can be treated with Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). Often sun damage leads to precancerous actinic keratoses (rough, red or brown spots), texture and tone changes, brown spots and blotchy pigmentation.
ALA-PDT is a treatment using an agent known as Aminolevulinic Acid (ALA), a photosensitizing topical prescription solution applied to the skin. The ALA is preferentially absorbed into the sun damaged skin and penetrates both the Actinic Keratoses as well as other sun-damaged lesions. Then the skin is exposed to LED light therapy (combination of red and blue light) for 8 to 10 minutes which activates the ALA which gradually destroys the areas of sun damage at once, with a small amount of downtime. The precancerous spots and other pigmented spots peel off leaving normal skin.
ALA-Photodynamic Therapy can treat:
ALA-PDT treatments are not covered by OHIP, however many private insurances cover a portion of the treatment.
